The Alumni Association of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State has appealed to graduates of the institution for financial support for the school.
In a statement issued by the National President of the association, Ehinola Olufemi, on Monday in Akure, the association called for the support of all and sundry for the development of the institution.
According to the statement, the association said there was a need to strive more at improving the financial capability of the institution so as to be able to meet its financial obligations like pension and gratuities, among others.
The statement read, “It is to be pointed out, however, that our findings revealed that some of the challenges confronting the polytechnic include poor Internally Generated Revenue which the institution uses to augment the monthly subventions from the state government.”
Olufemi appealed to all the stakeholders to have as their focus, a better Rufus Giwa Polytechnic and to see the institution as their own project that must be protected by all.
