Nigeria School Reopening: Lagos state set resumption dates for public and private schools
All public and private schools in Lagos state are set to resume on 18th January 2021
The Lagos State Government made this announcement on Monday that all public and private schools across the state will reopen for the second term 2020/2021 academic session from Monday, 18th January, 2021.
In a statement by the commissioner for education, Hon. Folasade Omobola Adefisayo said that the decision was in line with the Federal Government directives and also considering the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
She asked all schools to make efforts to comply with all the Covid-19 requirements for resumption of schools.
She also added that this development was not just for the improvement of the overall school operations but for the safe reopening of academic activities to support the Lagos State Government for full return to normalcy.
The commissioner also advised schools to have flexible plans for sick students and teachers to learn or teach from home through available online platforms.
Wearing of Face Mask at all times, Physical Distancing, Regular Hand Washing with Soap under running water and maintaining high level of personal hygiene within the school premises are the directives set by the health authorities for schools to follow as academic activites resumes to full swing.
