Kwara State Government has provided chairs and desks for some secondary schools in the state.
The furniture which the government said was the first phase comprised of 230 units of double lockers and chairs for the students.
Speaking at the official handling over of the materials to the state president of the All Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Kemi Adeosun reiterated the commitment of government to the provision of sound and quality education to the citizens.
According to her, “The 230 units of double lockers and chairs are to be distributed among 54 schools across three senatorial districts in the state.”
Adeosun charged ANCOPSS to make even distribution of the furniture and also supervise the usage by the students.
In his remarks, the ANCOPSS president, Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi, commended the initiative of the present administration, adding that its landmark achievements in the education sector was yielding positive results in the performance of students.
