Ondo plans skill acquisition camp for school children

The Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has said the state will build a permanent camp for school children where they will be trained on various skill acquisition programmes during holidays.

The proposed camp would be named BeMore Permanent Boot Camp.

Akeredolu stated this at the closing ceremony of BeMore Ondo 2021 Summer Boot Camp, for some school girls, held at the main auditorium of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State Capital.

At the camp, the school children were made to undergo two-week intensive training in Information Communication Technology, solar technology and other life-enhancing skills, The governor said, “ This is a challenge that all of us must give more support and ensure  that we have a permanent BEMORE camp in Ondo State. It will be a citizen’s program.”

Commending his wife and organiser of the programme, Mrs Betty Akeredolu, the governor said the skills acquired by the girls in the training would go a long way in shaping their future.
