Ndubuisi unveiled as Rector new Abia federal poly
Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu, has unveiled Dr. Paul-Darlington Ndubuisi as pioneer Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Isuochi, Umu-Nneochi Local Government Area, Abia State.
It came weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari gave approval for his appointment following the establishment of the school.
Before his appointment, Ndubuisi was Dean, School of Engineering, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana where he successfully pioneered the school’s Department of Mechatronics Engineering. He was equally the pioneer Director, Continuing Professional Development Centre, (CPDC) Nigeria /UNESCO TVET Programme which he held for the period of 2012 to 2016.
Reacting to the appointment, Ndubuisi thanked President Buhari for finding him worthy to pioneer the newly established polytechnic. He said he would liaise with relevant stakeholders, especially the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, Executive Secretary, National Board for Technical Education led by Prof.I dris Bugaje, to ensure proper steps are taken to drive the institution to enviable height.
Information from his mentee, Dr. Onyema S. Edward, described the new rector as a seasoned administrator, silent achiever, a man with inbuilt trust, always eager to make meaningful innovations in any area of deployment.
He said the polytechnic would be based on discipline, routed on efficiency and productivity. He proposed the motto of the institution to be “Centre for Skill Acquisition,Empowerment and Productivity.”
The rector also promised to make Federal Polytechnic, Isuochi an entrepreneurial and technologically driven centre.
