Corona Schools’ Trust unveils new library to boost learning 

As part of its commitment to education and community development, the Corona Schools’ Trust Council, has upgraded the library of Adeife Sodipo-Akindeko Memorial Primary School, as part of its ‘out-of-school initiative.

Chief executive officer of the school, Mrs. Adeyoyin Adesina, said the out-of-school initiative, which commenced in 2022, is currently sponsoring 50 primary school pupils.

Adesina said the upgraded library would support continuous learning for pupils, and also aimed at admitting the second cohort of 25 students.

She said: “As an educational institution with a focus on the development of world-class schools, in terms of curriculum, teaching methodologies and management, it would be our joy for every child to have access to education, and in conjunction with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) Project Zero team, we will continue to support these children and empower the school to a satisfactory level.”

She explained that the initiative embodies a commitment to providing essential tools for learning, assuring that the school will continue to lead the charge in fostering educational excellence and community development, bridging the gap for children who aspire to a brighter future.

As a testament to this, the second cohorts of out-of-school children were presented with school uniforms, bags, notebooks and water bottles for the school year.

Education Secretary, Somolu Local Government Education Authority, Dare Onakoya, lauded the school for the project, and expressed appreciation that the private sector is collaborating with the government to address the problem of out-of-school children.
